Year 5&6 Kinglake Forest Adventures
Day 1
Our Year 5 and 6 students had an exciting start to Kinglake Forest Adventures Camp!
We departed from St Catherine’s Lane, enthusiastic for the adventures ahead. When we arrived, we were greeted by the wonderful camp staff and treated to some delicious morning tea.
The day started off with fun icebreaker games to get everyone moving before we enjoyed lunch together outside. The girls then split into their activity groups and began their first rotations. They took part in a range of exciting activities, including forest bathing, leap of faith, giant seesaw, canvas painting, free fall, and even a special visit from the camp wallabies, Fiona and Vincent!
Dinner was lasagna, followed by ice cream in waffle cones. To finish the evening, we rugged up for a cozy campfire, where the girls roasted marshmallows. After a big day of fun and adventure, everyone was quick to fall asleep, recharging for another exciting day ahead.
Day 2
Our second day at camp was filled with adventure, teamwork, and memorable moments!
We started the morning with a hearty warm breakfast, giving the girls plenty of energy for the day ahead. They continued rotating through their activities, embracing each challenge with enthusiasm and determination.
Lunch was enjoyed in the beautiful sunshine on the oval, providing a perfect moment to relax and recharge before finishing off the last of our activity rotations.
Some highlights of the day included feeding Vincent, our friendly camp wallaby, conquering fears by taking a leap of faith from the platform and coming together to create a collaborative artwork on canvas. It was wonderful to see the girls supporting and encouraging one another throughout these experiences.
After a delicious dinner, the evening ended with an exciting game of Hunger Games. This team-based challenge encouraged the girls to communicate effectively, recognise their teammates’ strengths, and work together to overcome multiple challenges.
