A Partnership with Families

Our Early Learning Centre (ELC) philosophy recognises that families are a child’s first and most important educators. For this reason, fostering a strong partnership between families and the school is essential in providing the best possible learning experience for each child.

Open, two-way communication between families and educators is key to supporting children’s learning and development. By sharing relevant insights about your child’s experiences at home, you help educators gain a deeper understanding of their needs, strengths, and interests. Consistency between home and school environments creates the best opportunities for learning and growth.

Educators will take the time to connect with you at the beginning and end of each day, and there will be formal opportunities for parent-teacher discussions throughout the year. However, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher at any time with questions or concerns—no question is too small. We truly value open communication and look forward to working together to support your child’s learning journey.

I am also available to speak with parents to support or guide you with any question or concern you may have.

TeamKids – Out of School Hours Care

St Catherine’s School offers an Out of School Hours Care program to all ELC and Junior School families.  The program is implemented by our provider TeamKids and operates within the ELC building.  Parents are reminded that if you need to use the Before School Care or After School Care service, registrations need to be made in advance with TeamKids for either casual or regular bookings.  Registration is free and needs to be completed in advance of your child attending the program.  All families are encouraged to register so that you can use this service in the event that you are unable to pick up your child by 3.00pm.

Before School Care – 7.00am to 8.45am

After School Care – 3.00pm to 6.00pm

Registrations can be completed via the TeamKids website.

Please phone TeamKids on 1300 035 00 or email info@teamkids.com.au for all enquiries.

Learn to Swim Program

The ‘Learn to Swim’ Program is offered by Melbourne Swimming Academy at the St Catherine’s Aquatic Centre.  The program is available for ELC children to participate in as part of the Co-curricular program.  Various session times are offered after school.  Parents must take their child to their swimming lesson and remain in attendance at the Aquatic Centre, however, you are not required to get in the water with your child.

For further information, please contact Melbourne Swimming Academy via their website.
