GSV Triathlon
The St Catherine’s School athletes put on an outstanding display of endurance, teamwork, and determination at the 2025 GSV Triathlon, held on Sunday 23 February at Altona Beach Foreshore. Competing against schools from the GSV, our students demonstrated their dedication and spirit in both the team and individual events.
Our Junior teams performed strongly, with STC Junior 1 finishing in 6th place, led by Isabelle Byrne, Coco Thomas, and Anna Roosenburg, crossing the line in 46:55.5. Other notable finishes included STC Junior 2 placing 16th and STC Junior 4 securing 19th place. Congratulations to all our junior competitors for their resilience and hard work!
A massive congratulations to STC Int 3 – Coco Lutz, Carla Martuccio, and Charlotte Roe – who took out 1st place in the Intermediate Team event with a fantastic time of 41:07.0! Their exceptional performance is a testament to their hard work and dedication to training. STC Int 2 also secured an impressive 6th place, and STC Int 4 finished in 13th place, rounding out a strong showing from our Intermediate division.
Our Senior athletes demonstrated great perseverance, with STC Srn 4 finishing in 5th place with a time of 44:23.4. STC Srn 2 also put in a solid effort, securing 10th place. Well done to all our Senior competitors!
In the Junior Individual event, Emma Hessell placed 31st, followed closely by Chloe Deane-Freeman in 33rd and Zoe Katsambanis in 39th. In the Intermediate Individual category, Vera Zeng finished in 28th place with a time of 50:24.2.
The GSV Triathlon is a challenging event that tests the endurance and commitment of every athlete, and we are incredibly proud of all our participants for their efforts.

South Melbourne Physio Victorian T&F Champs 1 and 2
Over the same weekend,our STK, GHY, and St Catherine’s athletes delivered impressive performances, showcasing their dedication and hard work across sprints and jumps.
Paloma Gattino (U18, STK) displayed great speed, running 13.14s in the 100m prelims to place 6th. She shined in the 200m, finishing 2nd in the prelims with 26.88s before improving to 26.64s in the final, securing 4th place in a competitive field.
Isabella Fox (U15, STK) had a strong showing in the sprints, clocking 12.84s in the 100m prelims (2nd) and running a consistent 12.83s in the final, finishing 5th. She also performed well in the 200m, securing 2nd in the prelims with 26.04s before placing 5th in the final (27.16s).
Imogen Brownjohn (U14, GHY) showcased her all-around talent, competing strongly across multiple events. She placed 3rd in the 400m final with an impressive 61.13s after running 63.12s in the prelims (2nd). She also delivered great performances in jumps, securing 3rd in long jump (4.83m) and triple jump (9.91m). In the sprints, she ran 13.25s in the 100m prelims (4th) before finishing 6th in the final (13.47s). Her 200m efforts saw her place 3rd in the prelims (26.95s) and 6th in the final (27.83s).
It was a weekend of outstanding efforts and achievements from all athletes. Congratulations to everyone for their hard work and commitment, and we look forward to more great results in the future!
A special congratulations to our St Catherine’s athletes who have now qualified for the 2025 Australian Junior (Under Age) Athletics Championships, taking place from Friday 4 April to Tuesday 8 April at WA Athletics Stadium in Perth, Western Australia. Wishing all the best to our competitors as they prepare for this exciting opportunity!
