Strong Performances in the Pool

Thursday 14 February was an action-packed day for our team of 26 students as they competed in the SSV Armadale District Swimming Carnival. After three weeks of dedicated training, our swimmers arrived eager and ready to race. The day kicked off with a team warm-up and final race tips, setting the tone for a day filled with determination, camaraderie, and even a few ducks along the way!
A highlight of the morning was the Open Medley Relay, always a thrilling first event. Our team got off to a fantastic start, and from that point on, the energy remained high. Standout performances were seen across the board, particularly from our Year 5 and 6 swimmers, who rose to the challenge and delivered incredible efforts in their races. Special mention goes to Leticia Campos and Ellie Wang for their outstanding individual performances throughout the day.
Our relay teams put on an exceptional display, with second place finishes in the Open Medley, 12/13-Year-Old Freestyle Relay, and 11-Year-Old Freestyle Relay. These results showcased the depth of talent and teamwork within our squad.
At the end of the carnival, our team proudly secured 2nd place overall, finishing just behind Loreto. However, we once again claimed the Population Trophy, proving that while we may be small in numbers, we are mighty in spirit and performance!
A special mention to Anja Russ, who has qualified for the Beachside Division Swimming in the 9/10-Year-Old Breaststroke, Leticia Campos who has qualified for the Backstroke and Butterfly, Ping Li who has qualified in the Breastroke and Ellie Wang who has qualified for the Freestyle and Butterfly. A huge congratulations to the girls in the Open Medley Relay, 11-Year-Old Freestyle Relay and the 12/13-Year-Old relay who have also qualified! We wish them the best of luck as they progress to the next stage of competition!
Congratulations to all our swimmers on a fantastic day of racing, sportsmanship, and team spirit. We now look ahead to the next stage of competition with great excitement!
