Year 10 Trio Selected as Monash Scholars

Congratulations to Year 10 students, Hethushi Hapuarachchi, Lilly Fogarty, and Vinuki Thiseka (Vinuki) Ranatunga who have been selected to join the Monash Scholars Program.

The Monash Scholars Program is a prestigious program for high achieving secondary students to give them a unique head start into university life.

Students selected to join the program in Year 10 stay until the end of Year 12.

Hethushi Hapuarachchi

Hethushi: “The Monash Scholars Program will help me best prepare for Years 11 and 12. The Study Skills Seminar, and Motivating your Mind Seminar will be valuable events, as well as the ‘What it takes to be a Doctor’ Seminar which I think could be very beneficial as it aligns with my career aspirations to become a doctor.”

Lilly Fogarty

Lilly: “The Monash Scholars Program is a great opportunity for me to talk to experts in the subjects that interest me and get a feel for what University is like. I also hope to gain knowledge from current university students to help me in subject selections at School and choosing what path I want to take in university.”

Vinuki Thiseka Ranatunga

Vinuki: “This Program will provide me with a platform to connect with like-minded students who share similar aspirations and passions as me. The opportunity to be surrounded by mentors and peers all passionate about academic and personal development both within and outside of School will motivate me to be the best version of myself.”

Over the two and a half years of the Program, Scholars participate in a range of activities to enhance their learning, including; exploring career ambitions, defining personal aspirations, and building networks with other high performing students.

In their applications the girls were required to demonstrate academic achievement, co-curricular endeavours and articulate what a good leader looks like and how they display these qualities in their own lives.

We wish the girls well as they progress and develop through the Monash Scholars Program.
