At the end of Term 2, 100 voices joined together for the inaugural Heyington Place Sings, a collaboration between the junior school choirs of St Catherine’s and St Kevin’s Schools.

Our Epstein Singers strolled down the road after school on Friday 16 June to St Kevin’s School, where they were met with some 60 singers of the Glendalough Choir, St Kevin’s Years 5 and 6 Choir.

The two Choirs mixed and mingled through games, warm up activities and a combined rehearsal of the massed item, before performing a short concert for families.

Each Choir performed two songs before joining together in a four-part harmony with a lively rendition of the American spiritual song I’m Goin’ Home on a Cloud, a highlight of the afternoon.

The collaboration was a wonderful way for our students to hear other choirs, sing in a strong mass of a hundred voices, and connect with communities of music outside of our School.

Thank you to the staff involved in making the event run smoothly and joyfully: Mrs Kate Denmead, Mr Nick Grunden, and Ms Kristen Dhono Isworo.
