Big Freeze 2023 – Thank You!

The annual Big Freeze event was again met with immeasurable amounts of enthusiasm and support from our St Catherine’s community.

All money raised during the event will be invested in vital research to find effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Motor Neurone Disease. We were so pleased with the contributions from all our Davis girls who assisted us in simultaneously raising money and awareness.

On the day, those watching the event arrived following the theme of ‘Favourite AFL Teams,’ however, those being dunked were asked to get creative with costumes associated with the colour red, to represent Davis House. The dress ups were a lovely way to enhance the entertainment, especially for our Junior School students.

It is amazing to see the strength of the St Catherine’s community being so beautifully highlighted during fundraisers like these. Our teachers, families, and students’ abilities to contribute in any way they can, donating money or being dunked, emphasises our School community’s incredibly generous spirit.

We cannot express enough our appreciation for all the teachers and students who roused the excitement and braved the cold.

With our previous year’s events raising a total of $22,000, the $8,000 raised this year has pushed our St Catherine’s total giving tally to a much appreciated $30,000.

Thank you again to everyone who donated and supported this event. We are so excited to see what Davis can do again next year to support this worthy cause.
