We have had a fantastic year full of musical performances in assemblies, recitals, church services, and concerts. Our girls have shown their ability to learn and prepare repertoire and perform confidently to large audiences. We still have a few more big events to look forward to this year.

Barbreck Recital

Date: Thursday 17 November
Time: 3:40pm to 4:30pm
Venue: Junior School Auditorium

Our instrumental teachers have been busy preparing their students for the last recital of the year. The registration link was shared with our instrumental teachers, and it filled up very quickly with students who are taking instrumental lessons at our school. We have reached our capacity of 17 students and registrations for the Term 4 Barbreck Recital are now closed.

Our recitals have been consistently filled to maximum capacity with students eager to perform. We are proud to have teachers that are experienced and highly skilled musicians. They encourage consistent practice and inspire the girls to improve their craft.

A huge thank you to all instrumental teachers, for the hard work, dedication, and care that you have put into nurturing our girls this year. I love seeing the big smiles as they walk up and down the steps to and from their lessons. The excited tone of passing conversations up in Level 2.

“How are you today? So, how did this week’s practice go? What would you like to achieve in today’s lesson?”

VSMF Incursion

On Tuesday 22 November at 2:00pm, our Years 5 and 6 Band will be participating in the VSMF (Victorian School Music Festival) for Young Bands Program.

The VSMF will be sending an adjudicator to our School who will listen to both Junior School Bands perform and work with our girls in a 40-minute workshop.

Each Band has prepared two pieces to share.

Junior School Musical 2023

With much excitement, we are happy to announce that the 2023, Years 5 and 6 musical will be Seussical JR.

Seussical JR. is based on the works of Dr. Seuss. Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, the Cat in the Hat and all your favourite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR as we travel from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus! It is a story of friendship, loyalty, and love, and teaches us the power of being unique, and the importance of fighting for what you believe in.

Drama Teacher, Miss Lucy Mason, Miss Kirrilly Wootton, and I, are really looking forward to working with the Years 5 and 6 girls in Term 1, 2023 to prepare for this musical performance, to be held in Term 2, Week 6.
