Calm, Confident and Collected Young Women

I vividly remember the lead up to my own exams.

It was an exciting time, full of trepidation and eagerness. I have watched our Unit 3&4 students with admiration and respect this past fortnight, as they have approached their exams in a calm and confident manner. Personally, I am uncertain I was as collected as these young women.

It is important to celebrate and congratulate our Unit 3&4 students. They have worked tirelessly with persistence, resilience, and optimism throughout the year. If you stopped by the Nicholas Library over the last three weeks, you would have witnessed the phenomenal 1:1 discussions taking place between subject teachers and their students.

Our staff have gone above and beyond in preparation and support for our students. I can confidently say I have not witnessed this level of dedication in any school I have previously taught at. The St Catherine’s staff are exemplary. I take my hat off to you all. You truly go beyond for our students, and I thank you.

As we enter the final weeks of examinations, I wish to remind the students of my final send-off to them all:

“I know some of you will be feeling quite anxious around this time, but please remember, not everything relies on these final exams. Some of you will be artists, some will be entrepreneurs, and some will be writers, lawyers, and sportspeople. You will all find your niche in life, and it is important not to compare. If you get top marks, great. But if you do not, please do not believe this is all your future holds onto. Remember, it is going to be okay – these are just exams. Please do not think that doctors and engineers are the only happy people out there!’

I wish you the best of luck for the future and congratulate you all on the big and small achievements you have accomplished this year.

Well done, I am incredibly proud of you all!
