School Captains – looking forward to a great Term 2

It has been a great start to 2021 from the get-go and we are looking forward to this continuing in Term 2.

There was so much happening in Term 1 from the Head of School Girls regatta, the Duke of Edinburgh Hikes, the Concerto concert, the Years 7-12 Chess competition, the Year 8 and 9 production ‘Two Weeks with the Queen’, the Girls Sail event, and many more events.

It has been a year of new activities and experiences, and similarly, the Student Executive have embarked on a new endeavour of doing entirely student run assemblies. This opportunity to run the assemblies has been a great leadership opportunity for all of us, and so far, we have had very positive feedback from the School community.

The assemblies enable us, as a Year 12 cohort, to present our ideas and initiatives to the girls and the broader School community seamlessly. Our word for this year, Dare, is something we incorporate into every assembly where we pose a dare to the girls for the week. We have found this an effective way to reinforce our vision for everyone to step outside of their comfort zones and take advantage of their opportunities here at School.

The busyness of Term 1 has been embraced and conquered by all the girls across every year level and we are looking forward to what Term 2 has to offer.
