Take a Sneak Peak – Children of the Black Skirt
Chookas to the cast and crew of the Senior School Production of, Children of the Black Skirt, who open their four-show season tonight. The team have been hard at work in the rehearsal room since Term 1 to bring this fascinating Australian gothic fairytale to life.
Three lost children discover an abandoned orphanage in the bush and, through supernatural means, free the spirits of children who lived there through convict times, World War Two, the Stolen Generations and beyond. It is an evocative play which explores Australia’s history, children’s rights, and the healing power of storytelling.
Each cast member plays a multitude of characters, and expertly balance the comedic moments with the hauntingly vulnerable and heartbreaking.
