Athlete Development Academy 2023

St Catherine’s School’s Athlete Development Academy (ADA) has continued to provide our aspiring student athletes with opportunities to excel.

The Academy has expanded this year, now involving 23 students across Years 9 to 12. These student athletes are supported in their pursuits across a wide range of sports.

Each week ADA athletes complete two strength and conditioning sessions aimed at improving performance and reducing injury risk.

The diligence and commitment shown by our 2023 athletes in completing their training and encouraging their peers has been fantastic. We have already seen significant improvements in fitness across this term and some impressive performances across a range of recent state and national level events.

Last week, ADA athletes completed a range of benchmarking fitness tests, enabling our ADA coaches to track increases in strength, power, agility, and aerobic fitness across the year. Tests included 3RM Squat and Bench Press, Jumps Assessment, 505 Agility Test and 20m Sprint Test.

Our Athlete Development Academy will continue to provide performance support and further education for our athletes throughout the year.

We look forward to sharing the ongoing success of these student athletes.
