Cystic Fibrosis Walkathon 2022

Congratulations to Year 8 student, Kari Prendergast who organised the Cystic Fibrosis Walkathon Fundraiser last week.

Led by Kari, the Years 7 and 8 students walked around the block, donating to participate, and they could also purchase cupcakes. A very important element of the event was the opportunity for Kari to share with her St Catherine’s classmates her personal experience living with cystic fibrosis.

“I feel very grateful that all of the girls have been so supportive. I was nervous to share my story with everyone, as it can be a bit scary being that open with a large group of people. However, it didn’t take long for me to realise that every girl has my back. I loved seeing everyone with their red ribbons proudly walking around the School. I am so excited that this has been our second year in a row for the Walkathon fundraiser. It means the world to me to be able to raise funds and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis Community Care with all the girls,” shared Kari.
