There were many opportunities to see happy, active, and creative minds collaborating and celebrating St Catherine’s Senior School’s Wellbeing Day, held on Tuesday 22 November.

Wellbeing Day was off and running at 7:50 am on Tuesday, with our Year 11 students departing for their day of tree surfing at Enchanted Adventure in Arthurs Seat. The students spent the day exploring the majestic gardens and mazes, braving the heights of the trees, and testing their racing skills on the tube slides.

Our Year 7s enjoyed a day at Melbourne Zoo after spending the morning composing a letter to themselves, to be read when they are in Year 12. They also learnt more about friendships, respect and understanding themselves, during a presentation from Sex Education Australia (SEA).

The Year 8 students commenced their morning with yoga and positive thinking before a SEA seminar on Consent and Early Dating. The afternoon was active at Bounce, as the girls challenged their teachers and peers to dodgeball matches, flipping competitions and basketball shoot-outs.

It was resume writing, House netball and newspaper fashion design for our Year 9 learners, who created some amazing outfit designs from old magazines and newspapers. Sustainability was a focus, as they explored their hidden talents in design.

Our Year 10 students enjoyed the morning trampolining at Bounce and sharing a delicious lunch together back on-site, before exploring sexual health topics such as pregnancy, respecting boundaries and consent.

It was a fabulous day filled with relaxation, happiness, skill building and friends! Thank you to everyone who assisted in making the day a wonderful celebration, particularly the Heads of Year who developed innovative programs to extend and challenge the girls.
