Recently we had the pleasure of hosting Jenny Khafagi to run a String Masterclass for some of our students. Jenny is a full-time violinist of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and has appeared as Concertmaster with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, and the Auckland Philharmonia. We were very fortunate to have her pass on her experience to our budding string musicians. I’d also like to thank Sunny Xu, Kathrina Ang, Tiffany Shen, Cindy Chen and Opal Scheele for performing in the masterclass.

We also had Flute Ensemble, Epstein Singers, Soul Band and Jazz Ensemble perform at the recent Christmas Fair. It was such a treat to perform to such an appreciative audience. Thank you to all the students and staff that were involved for the afternoon.

To finish off the term, our budding Years 7 and 8 musicians performed the ensemble pieces they have worked on this term. The performances were full of energy and enthusiasm and a guest panel of judges voted on their favourite group, for a highly coveted café voucher.

Congratulations to our Year 7 and 8 musicians for their wonderful performances.
