Year 6 District Netball

It was an action-packed start to the week last week for the Year 6 District Netball team as they took on some fierce competition at the Armadale District Netball Competition held at Sacré Cœur.

On Monday, the team travelled to Sacré Cœur to face Korowa, Lauriston, and Firbank in the preliminary rounds. Each match brought intensity and excitement, with our girls rising to the challenge every time.

  • Game 1 (Korowa): A strong start saw us secure a comfortable win, setting a confident tone for the rest of the day.
  • Game 2 (Lauriston): Another solid performance resulted in a well-earned victory, with the team continuing to build on their momentum.
  • Game 3 (Firbank): A tightly contested match that ended in a draw, demonstrating our team’s grit and resilience.

In the Semi-Final against Genazzano, the pressure was on. Our team held strong and came away with a hard-fought win, a great reward for our effort and composure under pressure.

The Grand Final against Loreto was a thrilling contest from start to finish. The standard of play was outstanding, with momentum swinging throughout and every possession fiercely contested. Although Loreto ultimately took the win by 7 goals, our players left the court proud of their performance and the determination they showed.

Throughout the day, whether celebrating a win or handling a tough result, our team displayed the fierce heart and unwavering commitment that define St Catherine’s. The support from parents and our school community lifted the girls and made the day even more memorable.

We could not be prouder of what the girls achieved – they represented St Catherine’s with pride, skill, and sportsmanship.
