On 6 June, Rebecca Wibowo (Year 9), proudly represented Australia at the Karate Oceania Championships held in Noumea, New Caledonia. Competing in the Female Cadet category, Rebecca won the first place and earned the title of being an Oceania Champion.

She defeated strong opponents from Fiji, New Caledonia, and New Zealand to stand on the top of the podium. This event is the highest level of continental competition recognised and supported by World Karate Federation (WKF). We are incredibly proud of Rebecca’s resilience, hard work and determination. She is bringing home a precious continental gold medal for Australia.
