Running, Rehearsing, Rising

Always a highlight on the school calendar, our Athletics Carnival last Monday was a resounding success, helped along by near-perfect weather. The girls competed with integrity, fairness, and a healthy sense of competitiveness. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase their track and field skills and to see such enthusiastic participation in support of their Houses.

Congratulations to Beaulieu Blair, our overall House winner! A special thank you to Miss Olivia Cody for her hard work and organisation. Her efforts, along with the other teachers, made the day run seamlessly. We also had our District Cross Country event where we were represented by over 30 girls. We successfully finished with the Population Trophy with five girls qualifying for regionals. With the competition being such a high quality, this was an outstanding achievement by the group.

In the Performing Arts space, rehearsals for The Little Mermaid have ramped up over the past few weeks. Excitement is building across the school as the girls prepare for their upcoming performance, and tickets are selling fast! Under the guidance of Ms Kristen Hanafie and Ms Lucy Mason, the girls have been working incredibly hard. Like many in our community, I am really looking forward to seeing the production come to life on stage.

This week, we also hosted our Year 5 Parents’ Breakfast with the Principal, where families had the opportunity to hear from our Principal, Ms Natalie Charles, Head of Senior School, Mr Robert Marshall and Director of Teaching and Learning, Ms Lisa Hanlon. The session provided valuable insights into the direction of the School and what life in the Senior School at St Catherine’s looks like. The event concluded with a tour, and the feedback from parents was overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing that it sparked excitement about the transition to secondary school. With just over 18 months until these students join the Senior School, that milestone will be here before we know it!
