Last week, St Catherine’s Class of 2022 Alumnae, Miss Sarah Marriott (‘22) returned to campus to speak to our senior students from Years 9 to 11 about applying for international tertiary scholarships.  

Sarah has accepted a Sport Scholarship at Stanford University, commencing in 2024. During the session Sarah discussed her experiences in applying for and receiving the scholarship.  

“It is important to start researching early,” Sarah explained. “The sporting and academic applications are separate, in addition to the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) requirements, each university’s offering is different, so there is something for everyone!”  

Whilst continuing her rowing training, Sarah is also working at St Catherine’s School during her gap year as a Sports Coach, passing on her first-hand knowledge and experience to our current students.  

Sarah was a crew member in the St Catherine’s First VIII in 2022 who were victorious in the Prince Philip Challenge Trophy at the Henley Royal Regatta last year. Sarah was also selected in the U23 Australian Women’s Coxless Four, that won a Bronze Medal at the World U23 Championships in Bulgaria recently.
