Book Week Celebrations 2022

What fabulous fun we had celebrating the 2022 Children’s Book Council of Australia’s (CBCA) Book Week in Barbreck this week.

This year’s Book Week theme was ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open.’

In Barbreck we commenced our celebrations with Story Quest, an original play which weaves together the storylines of four of the CBCA 2022 shortlisted picture and early childhood books.

All our Barbreck girls enjoyed the performance in the Auditorium. The play was filled with adventure, colour and song.

Throughout the week we also hosted the Lamont Book Fair. Students had fun visiting the pop-up store during their library lessons and writing wish lists of their favourite books. Thank you to our Barbreck parents who visited the Book Fair, purchasing books and helping to raise funds for our School.

On Wednesday we capped off our celebrations with our much anticipated, ‘Dress Up as a Book Character Day,’ which did not disappoint. So much effort and thought were put into student and teacher costumes. Thank you to all our parents who spent time creating such wonderful costumes. The smiles and sense of joy during the Parade through our Village Green were wonderful.

What an engaging way to promote the love of literature and reading in Barbreck! To view a full gallery of Book Week images visit myPhotos here.
