Barbreck VOICES – Alexia Chatfield – Library Co-Captain

How did you feel when you found out that you had been elected as Library Co-Captain
I was very excited and proud of myself for being awarded this important role. I felt very happy as I had aimed to be the Library Captain for many years.  I really enjoy reading and spending time in the Barbreck Library.  I was also excited that Olivia is my Co-captain, as I know we will work really well together.

Why did you choose to nominate for the position of Library Co-Captain?
I chose to nominate for the position of Library Co-Captain as I love being in the library and reading, and want to encourage others to also enjoy reading. I look up to Mrs Requin and really like working with her, and learning from her.

Tell us some of the things you will be doing as Library Co-Captain?
I have many fun and exciting ideas for this year, which will encourage more people into the Library and inspire them to read more. You will have to wait to see all the great ideas, but one example is that we intend to hold a book cover drawing challenge!

What would you like to achieve in your role as Library Co-Captain?
I would like to create lots of amazing and fun ideas that encourage students to visit the Library and read extensively. I hope to look back over the year and have had a big impact on the Library and students’ enjoyment of reading. I want to make the Babreck Library the best library ever!

What do you enjoy most about being at St Catherine’s School?
At St Catherine’s I really enjoy the broad variety of activities available such as the Epstein Choir and Drama, and the close and warm community including all the amazing teachers.

What does being a St Catherine’s girl mean to you?
Being a St Catherine’s girl means I am part of an amazing school with great friends, very helpful teachers, and I am able to pursue many different activities and interests. It gives me the belief in myself to keep working hard and to always do my best.
