Year 6 Water Polo

On Tuesday 12 November, our Year 6 girls represented St Catherine’s at the District Water Polo Competition, hosted at Loreto.
For many of our students, this was their first experience with the sport, but they rose to the challenge, fully immersing themselves in learning and refining new skills throughout training over the past few weeks.
The day began with our Team facing a strong and competitive Loreto side, resulting in a 4-0 loss. However, the girls used this setback as a learning opportunity, closely observing the subsequent match between Loreto and Lauriston. This insight and strategic reflection seemed to make all the difference, as our Team took to the pool with renewed determination and phenomenal teamwork in their final game against Lauriston.
With superstar Evie Joseph scoring three goals, the girls went into halftime with a commanding 5-0 lead. The match ended with an impressive 6-0 victory, showcasing fantastic teamwork, sportswomanship, and resilience from our Year 6 students.
Congratulations to the girls on a well-deserved second-place finish and for representing St Catherine’s with pride!
