Term 3 Sports Wrap

Throughout Term 3, we have celebrated numerous successes on the athletics track, badminton courts, soccer fields and ski runs.
On the track, over 60 St Cath’s athletes competed in the Division 3 Championship Carnival, finishing in Third Place overall.
Fifteen students qualified to compete at the GSV Finals Night, putting them in the top 10 placegetters across the Divisions 1, 2 and 3 Carnivals.
Congratulations to our medal winners:
Gold:
- Violetta Capanni (Year 10 Javelin with a throw of 29.46m. This is a back-to-back win for Violetta as she won the Year 9 event in 2023)
Bronze:
- Isabella Fox (Year 7 200m with a PB of 27.43. She also came fourth in the 100m in a PB of 13.11s)
- Paloma Gattino (Year 10 100m & 200m with times of 12.99s and 26.41s respectively)
- Emma Peele (Year 10 High Jump with a PB of 1.53m)
In the GSV Weekly Sport Competition, over 100 competitors played across our 12 Badminton Teams. Our five GSV Soccer Teams also had strong seasons, particularly our Junior A and B Teams, both of which progressed to the GSV Finals.
We now look ahead to Term 4, with training for Rowing, GSV Cricket, GSV Basketball and Junior GSV Water Polo already underway.
