The annual Barbreck Charity Day was a wonderful occasion, uniting students and staff in support of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

Students took part in a variety of fun and engaging activities, with donations going towards helping provide books, books in First Languages, and learning resources for children and families living in remote communities across Australia.

Each of the Year levels received an art lesson with artist, Merindah-Gunya to create collaborative paintings that were a representation of the Barbreck community.

In addition to this meaningful experience, students got to participate in singing, dancing, reading and cultural activities that were guided by Year 6 students as part of their Ambassador Program.

This Program provides students in both Years 5 and 6 opportunities to demonstrate community involvement and responsibility as leaders of the Junior School.

A highlight of the day was the Year 5 Mini Market. The Year 5 students worked hard to plan, create, and run their businesses, with all proceeds going to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. From handmade crafts to delicious treats, their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit shone through, and their efforts made a significant impact.

Thank you to all students, families and staff members who contributed to such a successful day.
