On Wednesday, our talented Years 4, 5, and 6 athletes competed in the District Athletics Carnival at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve.  

It was a fantastic day filled with excitement, sportswomanship, and impressive performances from our students across a range of track and field events. 

Our Team displayed great determination and teamwork in events such as sprints, relays, long jump, high jump, shot put, and more.  

In an impressive achievement, St Catherine’s placed third overall in the competition.  

Congratulations to Imogen Brownjohn who has set a new District Record in three events:  

• 12/13-Year-Old Long Jump with a distance of 4.59m 
• 12/13 Triple Jump with a phenomenal 9.86m 
• 12/13-Year-Old 200m with a time of 27.66 seconds! 

A memorable moment from the day came during the hurdles event when strong winds decided to challenge our hurdlers even more than expected! The gusts were so powerful that the hurdles kept blowing over, so in true team spirit, students and teachers jumped in to hold them upright, adding some extra laughs to the day. 

We are proud of every participant for their efforts, and enthusiasm, and for representing St Catherine’s with such pride. Thank you to all the parents who came to support the Team.
