The Age of Exploration

This term in our HASS (Humanities and Social Sciences) lessons, we have embarked on an exciting journey through the Age of Exploration. We have been learning about the incredible voyages that led to the establishment of the first British colony in Australia in 1788.
We have delved into the daring adventures of explorers like Vasco da Gama and Ferdinand Magellan. Using navigation maps, we’ve retraced their routes to Australia, discovering how their journeys made it possible for others to follow and eventually settle in Australia.
In our lessons, we have been honing our research skills by digging into important historical facts about these explorations. We have extended our critical thinking skills by asking questions, listening attentively, and uncovering fascinating new information.
Once we have gathered all our facts, we will be creating presentations to share with our classmates. This is a chance for us to showcase our creativity and highlight the parts of our research that we found most exciting.
It has been an amazing adventure of learning and discovery for all of us!
