Learn, Connect and Shine

It has been a busy and eventful couple of weeks in the Junior School, with many wonderful opportunities for our girls to learn, connect, and shine.

100 Days of Prep
Reaching the milestone of 100 days of school was a joyful celebration for our Prep girls, who arrived in their pyjamas and immersed themselves in “100 Day” activities. At assembly, the Preps were on stage, and proudly shared their favourite part of school. We were delighted to welcome the President of SCOGA, Anna Foley, who gifted each girl a St Catherine’s bag tag as a symbol of welcome into our community. Ms Charles and I were both presented with one too with mine now proudly hanging on my school bag!

Science Week
Under the guidance of Mr Lewis, Science Week was a huge success. Students eagerly engaged in experiments, demonstrations, and problem-solving challenges. It was wonderful seeing our ELC students join in with the older Junior School girls to explore science together through a range of hands-on activities. There is a great buzz among the students for STEM related learning, which is a significant highlight of being in a girls’ school.

Book Week
Always a favourite on the calendar, Book Week was a celebration of stories and imagination, led by Ms Caluzzi. The week included inspiring author visits, a “two truths and a book” teacher quiz, and many engaging classroom activities. The celebrations concluded with our much-loved Book Week assembly and parade, where students showcased a colourful array of costumes under this year’s theme, Book an Adventure.

Snowsports
St Catherine’s achieved outstanding results in the Interschool Snowsports competition, with the Junior School named Primary School Girls Overall Champions. This remarkable result highlights the consistency and commitment of all our competitors. Congratulations to the students who participated, with special thanks to Ms Cody and Mr Tainsh for their leadership and support. The future of Snowsports at St Catherine’s is looking very bright!

Hockey Success
We are thrilled to share that our Junior School Hockey team has won the Regional competition and will now progress to the State Finals. This is an incredible achievement, particularly as many of the players do not play hockey outside of school. No matter the result at State, we are proud of the team for being able to come together get the best out of each other.

Parent–Teacher Interviews
Thank you to all families who took part in Parent–Teacher Interviews. The feedback from both parents and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the strong partnership between home and school that underpins the learning and wellbeing of our girls.
