Celebrating with our Dads

Campbell House was buzzing with excitement this week as the children welcomed their Dads and special guests for our Father’s Day celebrations. These occasions are always a wonderful opportunity for the children and their parents to spend very special time together.

Each class hosted a special celebration where the children and their guests enjoyed spending time together in our ELC. They spent time engaging in special projects, enjoying stories, singing, and sharing their learning journals. Much planning had gone into the event as the children discussed their ideas, prepared beautiful invitations, planned activities, and rehearsed songs. Special gifts had been lovingly prepared by the children and were presented to their Dads.

It is always wonderful to see and hear the delight from our children as they share this time with their Dads.

Here, the children share their thoughts about what they love about their Dads:

Sadie B: “I love my Daddy because he plays with me and reads me stories.”

Brooke: “I love my Daddy because he gives me piggyback rides and tells me jokes.”

Louis: “I love my Daddy because he gives me tickles, and I can’t stop laughing. I like it when he cooks pizza for dinner and helps build my wooden cubby house for me.”

Freddie: “When Daddy plays a lot of cricket with me even when we have very little time.”

Maddie: “I love my Daddy because he gives me cuddles.”

Jack: “I love it when we go to the toy shop together and he buys me toys.”

Alex K: “I love my Dad because he does puzzles with me and reads books to me. We go to the beach together – we make sandcastles, jump off the jetty and dive underwater.”

Ella: “I love my Daddy because he plays games with me. I like going to the ice cream shop with my Dad and I like going to ‘Bounce’ with him.”

Hugo V: “I love my Daddy because he plays with me every day in the back garden. Sometimes I go on my bike – he’s always next to me to catch me if I fall. My Dad is always there for me.”

Asha: “I love building Lego with Dadda. We love to build castles and do cooking. We make pancakes – I love pancakes and Dadda does too.”

Alex W: “I love playing card games with Daddy – he always wins. He’s good.”

Spindrift: “I love going to the park with Daddy. He pushes me really high on the swing.”
