Celebrating Book Week in the Senior School

Last week we celebrated CBCA’s 2023 Book Week with the theme, ‘Read, Grow, Inspire.’

Focusing on the ideas of growth and inspiration this year, we hosted a range of activities in the Nicholas Library each lunchtime throughout the week and students shared their love of the authors, books and characters that inspire them.

We began Book Week with an opportunity for students to use their creative talents to make beautiful bookmarks for themselves and as gifts for others. Our Tuesday Trivia Quiz attracted fierce competition, and we had some wonderfully crafted entries from our talented writers in the Blackout Poetry Competition on Wednesday.

In a first for the Nicholas Library, the Book Character Costume Parade was met with great enthusiasm, and we were delighted to invite Barbreck students to join us for the Senior School Parade. This Parade allowed students from all Year levels, as well as staff, to represent characters from their favourite literature.

Thanks go to Year 12 students, Ava Colosimo and Diya Kayick for their hard work in helping with logistics and running the event.
