The Barbreck Seussical JR. performances in Term 2 provided a wonderful springboard for our Junior School club artists to create Seussical inspired artworks.

We looked at the collages of Eduardo Paolozzi (1924-2005, Scotland) and of course the various works of Dr Seuss for inspiration. Students cut out a selection of collage materials including photos of each other, Dr Seuss backgrounds and magazines. They carefully cut out their images, arranging them in a balanced composition to tell their own story.

Finished artworks were displayed in the foyer of The Jamie and Rebecca Gray Theatre to be viewed and enjoyed by audience members as they arrived for the performances of Seussical JR.

The Musical provided a great opportunity for cross-curricular collaboration between Performing Arts and Visual Arts as well as providing a whole of Barbreck contribution to the shows.
