Students Recognised for Top 15% Ranking

The Australian Mathematics Trust hosts a range of competitions throughout the year that are designed to test mathematical thinking and to recognise and stimulate talent that is not so readily identified in the classroom.

So far this year we have hosted the Computational Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) which develops student interest and potential in computer programming and the Kangaroo Sans Frontières (KSF), a great practise for the Australian Mathematics Competition to be held later in the year.

It was wonderful to see 160 St Catherine’s students from Years 7 to 12 compete in one or both of these competitions this year.

During Senior School Assembly this week students who received a Distinction result at either of these Competitions were presented with certificates. Student reaching Distinction level at these Competitions represent the top 15% of their Year level.
