The Power of Shared Experiences

Our Prep to Year 3 Special Visitors’ Morning at Barbreck was a resounding success, leaving indelible impressions on all those in attendance.

The morning not only showcased the musical prowess of our students, developed through the wonderful Music Program in Barbreck, but also celebrated the vital role grandparents and special people play in our students’ lives. It was a beautiful reminder of the importance of intergenerational connections and the power of shared experiences in shaping young minds.

As the girls sang with great gusto, their grandparents and special visitors sat in the audience, their faces radiant with pride and joy. The pride in witnessing their loved ones’ music accomplishments was unmistakable, and their smiles mirrored the sense of fulfillment felt by the young performers.

The newly refurbished Sports Centre in our Senior School proved to be the perfect setting for such a celebration. With its tiered seating and spacious facilities, it provided an ideal environment for highlighting the girls’ musical talents. The Sports Centre echoed with applause, filling the hearts of all present with a deep sense of appreciation for the girls’ hard work and dedication.

Beyond the musical performances, the morning was a testament to the close bonds between generations. Grandparents and special visitors, many of whom were past students of St Catherine’s, had the opportunity to mingle with the students, fostering connections and creating lasting memories. Laughter and animated conversations were heard as stories were shared, and cherished moments were captured through photographs.

The students led their special visitors down St Catherine’s Walk where they proudly showed their Barbreck classrooms and learning spaces. The girls had the chance to discuss themes being studied, including Melbourne. Interviewing their guests on their own personal experiences in Melbourne ensured the girls gained valuable insights and knowledge from their special visitors.

Everyone had a delightful morning filled with learning, sharing and enjoyment.
