A Celebration of Experiences: St Catherine’s News Spring ’22
“It is often through the individual endeavour of participating in activities such as sport, performing arts, debating and community service, that children and young teenagers shape their strong sense of identity.”
MICHELLE CARROLL, PRINCIPAL
Across the globe, the COVID pandemic stole a generation of children away from their school camps, sports, and music concerts.
Re-creating a ‘culture of participation’ has been a key focus for St Catherine’s School this year. Our Spring Edition of St Catherine’s News is a celebration of our students engaging once more in learning through experience.
Within this Edition, we celebrate:
On Top of the World – the international success of our Senior First VIII Rowing Crew
Urinetown – the energy-filled Senior School production and first production staged in our new Jamie and Rebecca Gray Theatre
Gala Concert – A return to the Melbourne Recital Centre and a celebration of music
Adventure Brings Hands on Learning – a return to Adventure Camps for our Year 9 girls
Return to Home – Anna Foley (’92) and her daughter Violetta share special memories
Tough Themes, Beautifully Handled – developing bold learners embracing challenge and discomfort in Visual Arts
Change the Game – St Catherine’s new Athlete Development Academy
Snowsports Champions – an incredible return to Snowsports for St Catherine’s School
We hope you are uplifted by the stories of individual pursuit, teamwork, and the St Catherine’s spirit, showcased through St Catherine’s News, Spring 2022.
