From the Head of House: Beaulieu Blair

Beaulieu Blair

House Colour: Yellow

Named after the original name of Sherren House
Beaulieu and ‘Blair House’
which was a school established by Miss Templeton,
St Catherine’s Co-Principal from 1920 to 1931.

The House System at St Catherine’s provides students with a creative and competitive outlet where they build connections with peers from across Year levels from Years 7 to 12.

Beaulieu Blair (BB) is the yellow House with the hard-to-spell name that dates back to the original title of Sherren House.

As Emma Froomes, BB House Co-Captain, describes, “Beaulieu Blair is the family that we have at School.”

Summer Balla-Kellett, BB House Co-Captain adds, “you go through events together and build a collaborative competitiveness that creates a great culture of teamwork.”

The BB family has started the year on a high after taking out the biggest and most sought after competition on the School calendar, the annual House Arts Competition. Led by the incredible group of then Year 11s (now Year 12s), the members of BB collaborated to put on an incredible display of singing, acting and dancing, alongside wonderful media and visual effects.

With 2022 House Captains Emma and Summer injecting a sense of fun and community into House Meetings, the BB team is looking forward to the upcoming House events.

Our Captains have adopted the mantra Bite the Bullet for Beaulieu Blair.

As Summer explains, the mantra is all about getting out of your comfort zone, “sometimes things can be challenging, whether it’s running at House Cross Country or preparing for House Debating, challenge is necessary to being part of a team, and creating and achieving success.”
