ELC Update – Campbell House: A wonderful place to be

It has been wonderful to observe the sights and sounds of happy chatter and smiling faces filling the Early Learning Centre this week as the children returned from the holiday break. The children were certainly eager to reconnect with their peers and the program.

Our focus as Educators for this first week of term has been to support the children to resume their usual routine in the educational setting. This involves re-connecting with the classroom program and current interests and inquiries. It also involves re-connecting with peers and educators to re-establish these connections and relationships after the break. The children also need to refamiliarise themselves with classroom routines and expectations as they adjust to being back in this group learning environment.

We have an exciting term of learning planned for the children, including an African Drumming experience, workshops with indigenous educator Emmy Webbers, participation in the art exhibition, and our grandparents and special visitors days. There are many interesting inquiries happening in each classroom and many more will evolve as the children’s natural wonderings lead to further discussion and learning. The ELC children and families will participate in a whole centre project in relation to ‘light and shadow’. We look forward to sharing more details of this project with you very soon.

ELC Dance Program – Term 3

After a very successful introductory period, the ‘Point and Twirl’ Dance program will be offered in Term 3 for our ELC children. This program will be offered at the following times:

Mondays            3.00-3.45pm

Wednesdays        2.45-3.30pm

Bookings for each session are limited so it is advisable to book as soon as possible. The cost for the ‘Point and Twirl’ program is $100 per term. The Dance Program for Term 3 will commence in the second week of term.

From the commencement of this term, the children will need to be dressed in the specified dance attire (refer to the Dance Portal page) or an equivalent in the same colour. Parents are asked to change their children into their dance attire at the ELC before heading over to the Auditorium for the Dance class.

Please refer to the Dance portal page for further information and bookings https://myportal.stcatherines.net.au/homepage/27831

We look forward to an exciting term of learning and discovery in Campbell House.
