Junior School Places 2nd at District Swimming Competition

On Thursday 21 February, St Catherine’s Junior School contested the Armadale District Swimming Sports in cool conditions at the Oakleigh Recreation Centre.

The Barbreck girls knew they had prepared well in the lead up to the competition. With consistent performances across all age groups, and top three placings in most races, St Catherine’s were able to finish 2nd outright, just 16 points behind Firbank. Loreto finished 3rd to round out the top three.

Going through to the Division Carnival on Friday 8 March are the 12-Years relay team (Audrey Doan (Year 6), Portia Gowrie (Year 6), Catherine Ross (Year 6) and Annabel Taylor (Year 6) and our 11-Years relay team Emma Peele (Year 5), Amity Morris (Year 5), Mia Upton (Year 5) and Natalie Wang (Year 6).

Portia Gowrie and Audrey Doan also qualified through in the Individual Butterfly event.

A superb effort from our team and it is great to be back at the pointy end of District sport.
