Senior School Colours Program

St Catherine’s School has a long history of student achievement and participation in our school programs. The co-curricular programs pride themselves on the level of student participation and engagement, whilst developing soft skills and learning outside the classroom, in a variety of areas.

Over the past two years, a team of co-curricular staff and teaching staff have been involved in reviewing and reshaping the recognition and rewards program of our students. With many opportunities to reward and acknowledge the individual and team achievements of our students, we looked at how we can recognise participation and performance in the school setting. This process has included understanding the ideals and needs of our students, with a focus group of students in Year 10, who shared what they value in a rewards and recognition program, reinforcing the focus of our recognition program on student participation and achievement.

The revised St Catherine’s School Colours Program provides the opportunity to acknowledge students’ cumulative achievement, participation and performance in a diverse range of programs from Years 7 to 12. This program keeps the fabric of the previous colours system and expands the program to Year 7 to 12 in addition to rewarding performance by acknowledging achievement with Full Colours, Half Colours and Contribution Colours.

It is exciting to be rolling out the Colours Program to our students in the coming weeks. Students from Years 7 to 12 will learn about this program, and the process of achieving colours and receive a booklet that outlines the requirements of each area. The summary of the Colours Program is outlined below.

Full Colours
Full Colours emphasise and recognise exemplary participation and attendance, successful leadership and role modelling, and outstanding performance. Students receiving Full Colours embody the values of St Catherine’s School and the selected Program.

Half Colours
Half Colours emphasise and recognise consistent participation and attendance and a high level of performance and achievement. Students receiving Half Colours embody the values of St Catherine’s and the selected Program.

Contribution Colours
Contribution Colours emphasise and recognise consistent participation, commitment and teamwork demonstrated over a two-year period. Students receiving Contribution Colours embody the values of St Catherine’s and the selected Program.
