Afterglow Twilight Trail Run

Congratulations to Isabella Bufé, Chloe Joubert, Ava Lansell and Isabella Mangano who participated in the Afterglow Twilight Trail Run on the Victoria Surf Coast over the weekend. From all reports this was a gruelling 12km trial run over sand dunes and through the shrub, guided only by head torch.

This was the second year the girls have participated in the event, demonstrating their enjoyment of running and their ability to tackle a tough challenge. The girls all finished within the top 10 of their age category, with Isabella and Chloe placing second and third respectively in a time of 1:09:39 – over 10 minutes faster than the previous year!

Well done girls!

Athletics Australia All Schools Championships

Year 7 student, Alexandra Demetriou, placed eighth in the Australian All Schools 800m, Under 14 race

Congratulations Alexandra Demetriou who finished eighth out of 16 in the Under 14 800m at the Athletics Australia All Schools Championships, held at the AIS Athletics Track in Canberra.

Alexandra ran a strong race, kicking for the finish line fast in her second lap, which has become a signature strength of her racing. Alexandra ran another personal best and gained valuable race experience for the future.

Well done to Alexandra for making it to the Australian Championships and for your commitment to your sport.
