Our Preps are having an exhilarating Semester 1!  

In Term 1, our primary focus was on building phonemic awareness and equipping the girls with the foundational skills needed to read and write. The dedication and hard work they put into mastering these skills was truly impressive. Prep T has wholeheartedly embraced reading and writing! Their contagious enthusiasm has spread throughout the classroom.  

With a solid understanding of the 26 letters and the corresponding sounds under their belts, our Preps are now writing sentences independently. It is a joy to see them put their skills into practice.  

Our reading and writing program took an exciting turn at the beginning of Term 2, focusing on fairy tales. This was a wonderful segue into our current focus, which is Dreamtime stories.  

The girls have done an excellent job summarising these stories and identifying their beginning, middle, and end. They have also visualised oral retellings of text and had fun exploring some techniques used in First Nations art.  

Their engagement and creativity have been truly inspiring.
