The Annual St Catherine’s Careers Expo, held on the 8 May, brought together students from Years 10, 11, and 12 with representatives from tertiary institutions and industries.

Fifteen tertiary institutions and six industries, including Construction, Accounting, Traineeships, Offshore Wind, Local Government, and Marketing, attended the event. Among the attendees was Miss Tahlia Holmes (‘10), a St Catherine’s Alumnae from the Class of 2010, representing FDC Construction and Fitout.

During the afternoon, students had the opportunity to engage with tertiary representatives offering information about various degree courses and training programs, including global exchanges.

Students learned about a wide variety of potential career pathways to help identify their career interests. They collected informational brochures, entered competitions, and engaged in meaningful conversations with representatives.

This year, St Catherine’s Alumnae currently attending the University of Melbourne and Monash University joined tertiary representatives to discuss their courses and career pathways thus far. This provided our current students with the opportunity to hear firsthand accounts of university experiences from St Catherine’s girls just like them. The Old Girls were:

Miss Charlotte Rodgers (‘23) University of Melbourne

Miss Mietta Passon (‘23) University of Melbourne

Miss Tahlia Holmes (’10) FDC Construction and Fitout

Miss Ciara Jenkins (‘22) Monash University

Miss Sophie Hogan (‘20) Monash University

Miss Tahlia Guzzardi (‘23) Monash University

The introduction of various industries showcased a wide array of job opportunities. This diversity allowed students to explore career options they hadn’t considered previously and even provided volunteering opportunities to consider.
