Student Reflection: Years 7 and 8 Musical, Cinderella

The 2019 Years 7 and 8 production of Cinderella was a fantastic success! I absolutely loved working alongside my friends to create a spectacular performance. We were able to broaden our knowledge of musical theatre under the guidance of the creatives from school; Mr Brown, Mr Licastro, Ms Cher and Mr Collins. The Years 7 and 8 students were extremely lucky to have had dance lessons from none other than Rachel Bronca, a graduate from the Ballarat Academy of Performing Arts, who has performed in numerous professional productions. This production of Cinderella also gave students the opportunity to not only bond as students in St Catherine’s School, but to improve our teamwork skills!

When doing our first show run, it was astonishing to see all the hard work each individual had put into the production. Performing our two shows was so exciting and I know that all of Years 7 and 8 students thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were so grateful to notice the numbers that volunteered to help with hair, make-up, lighting, sound and backstage.

I think the main aspect that highlighted my Cinderella experience was all of my peers endeavouring to create a happy and positive atmosphere in order to produce an excellent show. Cinderella was a success! Bring on 2020!
