Term 3…Productive, Fast Paced and Going By Quickly!

The Term is disappearing quickly! Much has been completed in classrooms and specialist areas academically. The program is extremely busy and staff maximise each teaching session. Their energy and desire to ensure that this happens, and that the students can also enjoy special events aligned to subjects, is deeply appreciated.

Pastorally, much work has been done towards emphasising healthy and respectful relationships and sound resolution focussed thinking when any difficulties arise amongst classmates. The ups and downs of friendships and dynamics which change are to be expected and staff work hard to assist understandings. Such matters can be challenging at any age but especially when one is young and inexperienced. Adult guidance, without too much interference, are all essential in the training towards understanding interactions and change of friendships which cause concern. A tricky part of growing up!

A trusted adult who listens well and waits to be asked for advice, is a sound partner for young people who often want to voice a concern but do not want the adult solutions for “fixing it”. After listening well, a useful question gently said, can be, “That must have been difficult. How did you manage that moment?” To give a child confidence, the listener can assist the child in thinking of “something” to help them manage the moment of concern or sadness.

Father’s Day By Hemin (Michelle) Zhang
On Sunday 2 September, it was Fathers’ Day. Mum, Dad and I went to the city.
I went to buy ice cream for us. When I ate it, there was ice cream all over my face.
Later that afternoon, my Dad finished eating his ice cream but his nose accidentally went into the ice cream. Mum and I laughed.

I had a fabulous time. I can’t wait for the next Father’s Day.

Father’s Day By Arabella Foote
Sunday 2 September was Father’s Day. The highlight for me was when we went out for dinner in the city.
One of my meals was tacos. It had some fish and some vegetables. It was very yummy.
I also loved it when we could make our own tacos. In mine, I put some guacamole and some fish. I loved it. It was very yummy.
For dessert, I had some ice cream. It was very yummy as well.
I think my Dad loved it as much as I did. It was the best Father’s Day. I hope you also enjoyed Father’s Day!
