Our students performing at the Spring Concert.

The School community was treated to a wonderful evening of music at the Spring Concert on Friday 7 September. Not only did the concert showcase the depth and strength of the School’s musical program, it was also an uplifting display of the joy that students gain from their involvement with music. Through performance opportunities such as this concert, the students and staff share that joy with family and friends.

During the concert, the Year 12 students involved were called on stage and were recognised for their contribution to the fabric of the School’s musical life through the traditional presentation of yellow roses. Each girl’s involvement in ensembles, choirs, and musicals, plus their individual instrumental/singing talents was outlined and applauded. In some cases, students have continuously been a part of St Catherine’s ensembles or choirs since they were in Junior School. To continue their involvement in the full range of the Music program throughout their VCE years is a fabulous achievement, and they provide valuable role models for younger students to look up and aspire to.

The Creative Arts Auxiliary is pleased to provide the yellow roses for this important recognition of our Year 12 students, and we wish them all the best over the weeks ahead.

We also acknowledge the significant effort and dedication of all our Music staff in bringing the Spring Concert to fruition, especially Mr Tim Collins, and sincerely thank them all.
