Meet our Head of Junior School

Firstly, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the St Catherine’s School community for the incredibly warm welcome I have received since joining this very special school. From the moment I accepted the position as Head of Junior School, I have felt a deep sense of support and belonging. It is clear that the value of community is truly at the heart of St Catherine’s.

At the start of the year, I spent the first few weeks on campus without students, and the school was beginning to feel quite lonely. However, after just the first few days of term, I am filled with excitement and gratitude to be part of this wonderful school. I have challenged myself to learn every girl’s name by the end of the term, and I am committed to building strong relationships with both the girls and their families.

St Catherine’s School exemplifies the spirit of community, and I am privileged to be a part of it. I am also excited to be working alongside our new Principal, Natalie Charles. Those who have met Natalie and heard her speak about girls’ education will agree that the school is in excellent hands, preparing our young women for success and empowering them to take charge of their futures.

I have been deeply impressed by the genuine care and dedication shown by our staff. There is a strong focus on the wellbeing of each student, ensuring they are flourishing and reaching their full potential. As a result, the girls feel incredibly supported and confident in their learning journey. With such a seamless start to the year, I have no doubt that 2025 will be an extraordinary year for St Catherine’s.

I would also like to warmly welcome our new staff members. A special mention goes to Kate Banks, our new Deputy Head of Junior School, who joins us from Korowa Girls’ Anglican School. Kate brings a wealth of experience in curriculum design and pastoral care. We are also delighted to welcome the following new team members:

  • Lauren Maidment – Head of Learning Strategies
  • Daniel Perry – Year 1 Teacher
  • Charlotte Hoy – Year 4 Teacher
  • Stella Nguyen – Art Teacher
  • Rose Allan – Reception Desk (Thursday and Friday)

Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome Lauren Groen back from maternity leave, and she will be at Reception Monday to Wednesday. The girls are so excited to have her back!

A very special welcome also goes out to our new girls and their families. I hope you are feeling as welcomed as I have in my transition here.

I am eager to connect with all families, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me to introduce yourselves or if you have any questions or concerns regarding your daughter’s education. I look forward to seeing the girls continue to flourish throughout 2025.
