Growing, Learning, and Looking Forward

It is hard to believe we are already approaching the end of Term 1. It has been a busy and rewarding start to the year, and one that I have thoroughly enjoyed. Over my time in education, I’ve worked in several schools, but none have been as welcoming as this one. I have truly appreciated how the community has embraced me with open arms.

This term has been full of highlights, including my first teddy bear picnic, watching the girls excel at swimming competitions, attending parent socials, and going on camp. However, the greatest joy has been seeing the girls in action at school. Whether it has in the classroom, where they are eager to learn, or on the playground, watching the Year 6s kick a football around, it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I am excited to see what the rest of the year holds!

A big focus this term has been listening to the different stakeholders and gaining insight into what is working well and where we can enhance the learning experience for the students. One area we have been gathering feedback on is the school’s reporting system for parents. We have taken a close look at how we report and how other schools in the area approach it. If any parents would like to provide feedback on the school reports, please feel free to contact me at bkean@stcatherines.net.au. I am interested to hear a variety of perspectives to make sure we are meeting the needs of our parents when reporting on their daughter’s learning.

In the meantime, I am noticing some tired girls across the Junior School who are in need of a well-earned break. We hope everyone can enjoy some quality family time and take a slower pace. We want the girls to return refreshed and ready for another busy term ahead. I am looking forward to spending time with my family and gearing up for another fantastic term at St. Catherine’s!
