Making Waves With Our New Aquatics Partnership

St Catherine’s School encourages sport as an important part of every student’s well-balanced weekly routine to foster overall wellbeing.

Through a range of different programs and pathways, our Sports Program provides students of all ability levels with an opportunity for both participation and performance and fosters friendships and School spirit amongst students, coaches, and parents.

One such element of this Program is St Catherine’s School’s Aquatics Program, which is available to our current students, parents, and members of our School community. A key component of our School’s Aquatics Program has been our Swim Squad partnership with Melbourne Swimming Club (MSC).

We are excited to announce our extended partnership with MSC which will expand to include a premium Learn-to-Swim Program – Melbourne Swimming Academy (MSA) – for our community, alongside the highly-successful swimming squad. MSA will operate within our Marigold Southey Sports & Aquatic Centre from mid-March.

The Aquatics Program through Melbourne Swimming Academy will offer swimming lessons through the Learn to Swim Program to cater for all abilities and swimming levels. The Program also ensures our developing high-performance swimmers have a varied training and racing environment.

Melbourne Swimming Club is led by former Australian Olympic Swimming Coach, Mr Ian Pope. As a collective group, Melbourne Swimming Academy and Melbourne Swimming Club are committed to developing a culture of support and excellence in partnership with St Catherine’s School.

The Melbourne Swimming Academy will offer programs to cater for children from the age of three, equipping students with fundamental swimming skills, technique, and water safety knowledge for safe and enjoyable participation in aquatic environments.
