As we approach the end-of-year festivities, we have several School events planned to support our students and connect with fellow families, teachers, and community members. 

Here is an overview of the upcoming events in the final four weeks of the 2023 school year. Please keep an eye out for detailed event information as the dates draw nearer. 

House Aerobics 2022

House Aerobics and Iron Girl Event – Wednesday November 22 (2.00pm) 

Our Years 5 and 6 students have been training for this year’s House Aerobics Competition. House Captains will lead their teams, creating routines to perform as a united group. Parents are invited to enjoy the performance on the Village Green. 

One of Barbreck’s traditions is the Year 6 Iron Girl Competition. This event involves students running, swimming, and completing a final run. Some students aim to win the trophy, while others work to finish the challenge. The Iron Girl event will follow House Aerobics. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch. 

Junior School Concert – Wednesday November 29 (6.00pm to 7.30pm) 

Our Junior School Concert showcases the musical and performing arts talents of our students. Our Barbreck girls have worked hard in Performing Arts lessons and ensembles throughout the year and are excited to perform. We expect all students to participate. All parents and families are invited to share in this artistic celebration. Please keep an eye out for ticketing instructions on the news page of mystcatherines. 

Prep to Year 2 Sports Afternoon – Thursday November 30 (2.00pm to 3.15pm) 

Our Prep to Year 2 students will enjoy an afternoon of sports and activities. Parents are invited to join and partake in the fun.  

House Swimming Carnival – Tuesday December 5 (Years 3 to 6) *Please note the new date 

The House Swimming Carnival is a highly anticipated event for many students. Every student has the opportunity to compete in various events. Families are encouraged to attend to cheer on our competitors and show their support. 

Junior School Christmas Church Service – Wednesday December 6 (2.00pm to 3.00pm) 

Our end-of-year Christmas Church Service will be held at Toorak Uniting Church. All Barbreck students attend, and many participate in the Service. Families are encouraged to join us for this festive event. 

Final Assembly – Thursday, December 7 (11.00am) 

The final Barbreck Assembly of 2023 is an opportunity to bid farewell to our Year 6 students and celebrate the year’s achievements. Families are welcome to attend and say goodbye before the summer break.
