I trust everyone had a lovely break shared with loved ones and that the Easter Bunny was generous with its delivery of eggs! I can imagine the squeals of delight and fun on Easter Sunday as the girls found their eggs.

Our Annual Easter Service was a very fitting end to a wonderful first term at Barbreck! Our girls always shine a little brighter at these events, and the choirs and ensembles perform so beautifully. Well done to all our Barbreck girls for contributing to this wonderful event. Thank you also to all our Barbreck parents who attended and shared in this community event.

Term 2

Term 2 has much to offer our girls and their parents. We are moving into the cooler months and girls are reminded to wear their full Winter Uniform from 8 May. I also encourage parents to pack more food into the girls’ lunchboxes as the cooler weather often means they are a little hungrier and need more sustenance to keep their bodies warm.

Supporting our Parents

Parenting is not an easy job, particularly when our children are part of a digitally connected global community.

While technology has made lives easier, enabling people to connect more quickly and in various ways, it has also exposed our girls to many more social pressures. As such, it is important parents are provided with expert knowledge to assist them in best supporting their children online.

This term, St Catherine’s School is pleased to offer our parents access to experts in their fields to support them in their parenting roles.

Tuesday 9 May:  The Resilience Project Parent Webinar

St Catherine’s School warmly invites our parent community to a special event hosted by The Resilience Project Team and featuring renowned speaker Mr Hugh van Cuylenburg.

This webinar is designed to provide parents and carers with valuable insights into the importance of authentic connections when building positive relationships with children.

Thursday 25 May: Cyber Safety Parent Online Webinar by iT and Coffee (Lynette Coulston)

For our Barbreck parents from Years 3 to 6 we have engaged Lynette Coulson from iT and Coffee for an online webinar. Her webinar looks at keeping our girls safe while on devices and helping to use device functions to control screen time, content and privacy, guided access, password control, and setting up iCloud Family.

Further information and registration links will be provided shortly.

We highly recommend these online resources to our Barbreck families.

Barbreck Musical – Seussical JR

Our Years 5 and 6 girls and many of our Barbreck staff have been working hard with rehearsals, props and much more to deliver a wonderful musical for our Barbreck Community. Musicals are held every two years in Barbreck, and as such, this is a very special event.

We hope all girls and their parents will attend our scheduled performances of Seussical JR. Dates and times are provided below. Ticket sales will be advertised via The Blue Ribbon shortly.

Thursday 1 June 5.00pm and 6.30pm

Special Visitors’ Morning – Prep to Year 3 – Friday 19 May

Special Visitors’ Morning is one of our girls’ favourite events of the school year. The girls love inviting their special people to attend Barbreck with them for a morning.

The girls take them on a tour, introduce them to friends and teachers and participate in activities. Special visitors including grandparents, uncles, and aunties travel from near and far to attend.

If you have family thinking of visiting soon, it might be a good idea to align their visit with this event. Please save this date.
