Barbreck News – Week 2 Term 1 2022

Learning, fun and making new friends have been the themes of the first two weeks of the 2022 school year. It has been a highlight to see so many happy, smiling faces entering and leaving Barbreck each day.

This week saw the commencement of our Co-curricular program. Participation levels are high and it is pleasing to see so many students attending our clubs and activities.

A couple of important reminders:

Nuts at School

St Catherine’s School is a ‘Nut Aware’ school. We request that parents do not send or bring food or products containing nuts to School. These may include some obvious, and some not so obvious ‘nut’ foods, such as mixed nuts, peanut butter, Nutella or cakes/biscuits with nuts, just to name a few. We thank you for your diligence and assistance in helping us provide the safest possible school environment for every girl.

Late Arrivals

Students who arrive at 8.30am or later must sign in at Barbreck Reception, collect a late pass and present it to their classroom teacher.

Early Leavers

If students are to be collected early, please inform Ms Kellie Dunstan, our Junior School Administrator at juniorschool@stcatherines.net.au along with your daughter’s classroom teacher, via email, prior to the collection time. Students must also be signed out at Barbreck Reception before leaving the campus.

Sport Uniform

For the first four weeks of term, all students are participating in Swimming during their Physical Education lessons. Students of all Year levels are to wear Summer Uniform, to and from School, and change into their bathers for Swimming. Please note that students should not be wearing their Sport Uniform to and from School. Students participating in after-school sports are to change into their Sport Uniform with House polo shirts at the end of the day before commencing sport.

Prior to the end of Week 4, when Swimming finishes, we will communicate expectations regarding the correct uniform to wear on the days the students have P.E.

Sovereign Hill Study Tour

We have many exciting Year 5 students and teachers who will be travelling to Sovereign Hill on Wednesday morning for their two-night study tour. I wish them well and look forward to seeing off many more students to many more camps and excursions over the year!
