The St Catherine’s Parents’ and Friends’ Association has received many generous donations at the Second Hand Uniform Shop and sincerely wishes to thank all families for their kind and ongoing support. All proceeds raised by the PFA Second Hand Uniform Shop are donated to School projects that benefit our girls. Currently, funds are being directed to the Village Green within the Junior School redevelopment.

With all the wonderful donations received, the Uniform Shop currently has good stock of Senior style summer dresses (Years 4 to 12), Peter Pan collar summer dresses (Prep to Year 3), blazers, backpacks, crested polo tops, house polo tops, bathers, junior sun hats, gymnastics leotards, interschool gymnastics leotards and shorts, rugby jumpers, blue skivvies, polar fleece vests, pullover vests and winter shirts.

The commencement of Term 4 is only six weeks away and this means the girls will be back in summer uniform. Now is a good time to check that summer dresses still fit! While you are at it, it is probably a good time to clear out your entire uniform wardrobe.

Donations and Consignments

The Second Hand Uniform Shop welcomes donations of all uniform items. There is always a high demand for Senior style summer dresses, trackpants, braided blazers, winter scarves, winter skirts and ties, pinafores and spray jackets. If you have any uniforms your daughter has outgrown, please consider sending them our way.

We also gladly accept items such as school bags, sports bags, sun hats, swim caps and school socks. Items considered ‘not fit for sale’ are also accepted as we recycle zips, buttons, cords and fabric for mending purposes.

A reminder, parents can sell the following items on consignment:

• Blazers
• Braided blazers (if you wish to keep the pocket, we can sell the blazer without the pocket)
• Deck coats
• Spray jackets
• 2XU crested leggings
• Rowing suits
• Interschool display/competition leotards.

All items submitted for sale on consignment must be clean and in good condition. Commission of 50 per cent of the sale price is paid back to parents at the end of each term in the form of direct credit into a nominated bank account. Please print the Consignment Form, complete the details and attach to your items if you wish to consign them for sale. Donation items included in the same package do not need to be listed.

Donations and consignments can be dropped off at the shop on Wednesdays between 1.00pm and 4.30pm or the Senior School Reception at any time.

Location

The Second Hand Uniform Shop is conveniently located on the Senior School Campus in the building behind the Winter Garden – accessible through the rear door of the Winter Garden or through the pedestrian gate on Heyington Place between Gates 3 and 4.

Opening Hours – Terms 3 and 4

During term time, the Second Hand Uniform Shop is open every Wednesday from 1.00pm to 4.30pm.

• Last opening Term 3: Wednesday 18 September 2019 – 1.00pm to 4.30pm
• First special opening Term 4: Friday 4 October – 11.00am to 4.00pm
• First regular opening Term 4: Wednesday 9 October – 1.00pm to 4.30pm
• Special openings Term 4:
  • Friday 11 October – 9.00am to 11.00am
  • Friday 23 October – 1.00pm to 4.00pm
  • Friday 1 November – 1.00pm to 4.00pm
  • Thursday 14 November – 1.00pm to 4.00pm
  • Friday 15 November – 1.00pm to 4.00pm.

Uniform Orders

Parents can place orders for second hand uniform items by placing an order in person during opening hours or by sending an email to pfauniform@stcatherines.net. Parents will be advised by email as soon as the required item comes into stock.

Volunteers

The Uniform Shop could not operate without the help of our volunteers and it is with great appreciation that I wish to thank all our wonderful volunteers for their valuable time and assistance. Special thanks to Liz Addison-Baker, Hannah Crawford, Alison Dennison, Kate Oxley, Amanda Thompson, Jackie Sitch, Lara Stocco, Pauline Wang and PFA Committee members.

Also, I extend a warm welcome to our new volunteers who recently joined on roster: Erica Marriott, Katie Mitchell, Julie-Anne Pagnin and Kim Sharman.

Working in the Uniform Shop is a great way to meet other parents and get involved in our School community. Volunteering in the Uniform Shop is easy and you can choose to work one Wednesday per month or as a ‘fill in’ when someone is away.
